1: This word has to do with the habitat itself and its environment but not also. In everybody´s mind there is the idea of linking eco- to what is supposed to be “green” thinking in an ecologist way (which is not an ecological one). Furthermore, Ec(h)o- means resonance, and it is related to reflected sounds, so that, in a sense we could talk about eco- as the resonance way of living (in) an environment.
