Function : noun.
1: An interdisciplinary field of academic study which aims at modeling natural, biological processes using mathematical techniques and tools[1].
2: Application of mathematics to organic forms to understand the relationship between morphology and biological theory. Based primarily upon the book “On Growth and Form” written in 1917 by D’Arcy Thompson[2].
3: Also Mathematical biology.
